From George Takei’s FB:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was only one.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow and defeat, I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord: “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?

The Lord replied: “Sand People always ride single file to hide there numbers.”

I would have thought you would recognize Jesus’ footprints by the holes.  Fuck his followers are illiterate!

I don’t know [why we’re here]. People sometimes say to me, ‘Why don’t you admit that the humming bird, the butterfly, the bird of paradice… are proof of the wonderful things produced by creation?’
And I always say, well when you say that, you’ve also got to think of a little boy sitting on a river ban, like here, in West Africa, that’s got a little worm, a living organism, in his eye and boring through the eyeball and is slowly turning him blind. The creator god that you believe in, presumably, also made that little worm. Now I personally find that difficult to accommodate…”

Something goes wrong: quick! blame the other!

Theists will find any excuse to insert their hatred of the other into any situation or conversation.  Anyway, I’ll leave them wallowing in their hate and look for useful ways to support the families torn apart by this horrible event.

When the country was more religious, in those good old days that conservatives yearn for, there were still school shootings: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shootings_in_the_United_States
