  1. This isn’t Poseidon, it’s Ulmo, the Vala of Waters in J. R. R. Tolkien’s mythology. Tuor has just found the armour and sword King Turgon left at Nevrast long before at Ulmo’s bidding, and Ulmo is now telling Tuor to visit Turgon in Gondolin (the city Gandalf’s sword came from) and to warn him to evacuate before Morgoth attacks.

    “Go now,” said Ulmo, “lest the Sea devour thee! For Osse obeys the will of Mandos, and he is wroth, being a servant of the Doom.”

    Your point is still valid, though. And it’s a cool image.
